Chef Deanna is an experienced chef that has been on the cutting edge of the sustainable food movement for over ten years.  She has thirty years of wedding experience and serves The Hudson Valley, The Catskills, NY. and The Berkshires, Mass.

Everything is homemade, she serves her traditional Sicilian cuisine as well as designing a menu that works best for your wedding or event.

Our mission


Our mission is to support our local agriculture for organic food production - deliciously. 

If you are looking for locally sourced ingredients, handmade food and an actual taste of the Catskills Chef Deanna is the only chef in the area that locally sources 95% of all her ingredients. If only we had olive oil and lemons! 

 Her passion for locally sourcing her food has led her to the little town of Bovina Center, NY where she is surrounded by her farmers. An average event is sourced from a thirteen mile radious from her kitchen to insure you get only the highest quality ingredients New York has to offer.

 

Deanna is a pleasure to work with on so many levels, personally, professionally and artistically. She created an experience for me at an intimate outdoor gathering. Right down to the beautiful vintage dishes, napkins and tablecloths, she paid attention to every little detail. Her cooking is exquisite and boy does she do it with a special flare. I can’t wait to have another event catered by Chef D.

Our food is lovingly grown, raised and crafted by some pretty amazing farmers in Delaware County, N.Y. Catskill Regional Harvest store in Delhi, NY opened by  Nicole Day Grey of Agriforaging Safety has been an incredible source of local and artisinally crafted food in our region. The most amazing charcuterie!!!

Check out some of our farmers, they are awesome!  Straight out of the ground farm,  Ramble Bramble farm,  Berry Brook FarmLucky Dog Farm,  Burn Ayr Farm in Delhi, NY ( they have Scottish Highlanders and a B&B). Edible flowers and beautiful veggies by  Burnett FarmBramley Mountain Farm gives us beef from his Belted Galloway herd.  Our vegan cheeses and pates are made by the fabulous Lori Robin from Cheezehound (out of this world). Taylor Foster of Heaven on Main is our goddess of all things sweet and dessert like.    Betty Acres Farm makes fresh cheese for all of our events and oh that aged Delchego is worth a trip to her farm. Dirty Girl Farm has organic goat milk now for our risotto and goat cheese. Bovina Valley Farm, I am so in love with Alderney, this raw organic cheese is made aged and young. The aged Alderney is what we use instead of Parmesan (keeping it local).

Lets not forget our cider. We started using all local beer and ciders instead of wine and it has been wonderful. Thanks to Wayside Cider and  Awestruck Cider ( we just catered a wedding there - so cool)

Our food comes fresh from all of our local farms.  Organic food grown, raised or crafted closer to home is not only more nutritionally dense but it sure tastes better too.  We happily accommodate dietary preferences and restrictions. We love vegan weddings as much as we love all weddings. 

When Deanna was doing the Woodstock Hidden Kitchen I had the pleasure of being invited. The location wasn’t announced until days before the event. She choose people that were like minded 10 strangers having dinner together and became quick friends. The meal was amazing , local and organic. We ate off of old china sipped wine listened to live poetry and classic pianist. The most amazing part was we were in the kitchen while Deanna did her magic with ingredients that she combined to give us a most delicious meal . My taste buds danced with glee. I loved the Woodstock Hidden kitchen , it gave all of us a chance to taste a wonderful chef’s food . There are many chefs out there but no one compares to Deanna she takes the time to find local ingriedients and then plans her menu . Her recipes have old world charm right down to the dinner plates .

We do love wedding season! Our exceptional staff goes beyond what is expected to make your day, the best day! We serve our food on cast iron and vintage platters because at no point during your event do we want you to feel like you are in an industrial production line. We also bring the vintage plates, silverware and mason jars -  a few less things for you to worry about. Chef Deanna works with a variety of local venues, here are a few of our favorites.  Just click on the picture to check them out. 

We highly suggest a good wedding planner for your event.  The best one in the area is Kate Arel from Charmed Affair, we have worked with her many times and she has proven to be a master of her art form. Tell her we said Hi!

 

As I begin writing this review, so too, I begin to drool — for that is the yumminess of Chef Deanna D’Angelo’s cuisine.
Chef D’s food delights the palette and tickles the soul, as if the woodland faeries themselves have joined her to invoke the pleasures of fresh, local, responsibly-sourced ingredients that she steeps in love and creativity. A meal prepared by Chef Deanna takes you beyond her expression of love, unto its own experiential realm. Express your needs, then let go, and give this gifted woman the freedom to work her magic interlaced with unimaginable pairings; always presented on an inspired eclectic assemblage of grandmother’s china.

Kindly let us know a few details like the where and when and an estimate of how many guests. Dietary restrictions like non dairy or no meat products is incredibly helpful information also. Please keep in mind we book at least a year in advance, but we do try to accommodate a few last minute requests so give us as much time as you can so we can reserve your date for you.
